What is Tadalafil Generic and How Does it Work?

Tadalafil generic is a medication containing the same active ingredient as Cialis, tadalafil. It treats erectile dysfunction (ED) by increasing blood flow to the penis, allowing for firmer and longer-lasting erections.

How it works: Tadalafil inhibits an enzyme called phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5). PDE5 breaks down a compound called cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which is crucial for penile erection. By blocking PDE5, tadalafil increases cGMP levels, leading to vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) in the penis. This increased blood flow facilitates an erection in response to sexual stimulation.

Important Note: Tadalafil generic, like its brand-name counterpart, requires sexual stimulation to be effective. It doesn’t cause erections spontaneously.

Dosage: Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage based on your individual needs and health conditions. Common dosages range from 2.5mg to 20mg, typically taken as needed, approximately 30 minutes before sexual activity. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.

Side effects: While generally well-tolerated, possible side effects include headache, flushing, nasal congestion, indigestion, back pain, and muscle aches. Serious side effects are rare but require immediate medical attention. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for a complete list and further information.

Precautions: Tadalafil is not suitable for everyone. Individuals with certain heart conditions, low blood pressure, or those taking specific medications should discuss its use with their doctor before taking it. Never exceed the prescribed dosage.
