Dosage and Administration

Your doctor determines the correct dosage based on your age, weight, and the specific infection. Typical dosages range from 200mg to 400mg daily, usually taken once or twice a day. Always take the medication as prescribed; don’t adjust the dosage without consulting your doctor. Complete the full course of antibiotics, even if you feel better sooner.

Side Effects

While generally well-tolerated, some possible side effects include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and headache. Severe allergic reactions, though rare, can occur. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or hives.

Precautions

Inform your doctor about all medications you’re taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements, to avoid potential interactions. Tell your doctor if you have a history of kidney disease or allergic reactions to penicillin or other antibiotics. Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Consult your doctor before taking Suprax if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
