Side Effects and Precautions

Vardenafil, like other PDE5 inhibitors, can cause side effects. The most common include headache, flushing, nasal congestion, and indigestion. These are usually mild and temporary.

More Serious Side Effects

Less frequent but more serious side effects require immediate medical attention. These include prolonged erection (priapism), sudden vision loss, or sudden hearing loss. Seek immediate medical help if you experience any of these.

Precautions

Heart Conditions: If you have heart problems, discuss Vardenafil use with your doctor beforehand. It’s not recommended for those with severe heart disease.

Blood Pressure: Vardenafil can lower blood pressure. This is particularly important if you’re also taking nitrates. Avoid combining them.

Liver and Kidney Problems: Your doctor should adjust your dosage if you have liver or kidney issues. Dosage modification is usually necessary.

Alcohol Interaction: Combining Vardenafil with alcohol can increase the risk of side effects. Moderate alcohol consumption is advised.

Medication Interactions

Other Medications: Inform your doctor about all medications you’re taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements. Some medications can interact negatively with Vardenafil.

Grapefruit Juice: Avoid grapefruit juice while taking Vardenafil, as it can affect how your body processes the medication.
