Tadalafil 20mg, while generally well-tolerated, can cause side effects. Common ones include headache, flushing, nasal congestion, and indigestion. These usually are mild and temporary. Less common, but still possible, are muscle aches, back pain, and dizziness. Rarely, more serious side effects like vision changes (including sudden vision loss), hearing loss, prolonged erection (priapism), and heart problems may occur. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of these serious side effects.
Medication Interactions
Tadalafil interacts with certain medications. Nitrate medications (used to treat chest pain) are a particularly dangerous combination. Concurrent use can cause a significant drop in blood pressure, potentially leading to fainting or heart attack. Inform your doctor about all medications, supplements, and herbal remedies you are taking before starting Tadalafil. This includes prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and recreational drugs. Alcohol can intensify Tadalafil’s side effects. Grapefruit juice can also increase Tadalafil levels in the blood, potentially leading to increased side effects. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption and grapefruit juice while taking Tadalafil.
Precautions
Before taking Tadalafil 20mg, discuss your medical history with your doctor, especially if you have heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, a history of stroke, or a history of low blood pressure. Tadalafil is not recommended for people with certain eye conditions. Men with sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia should also exercise caution.
Dosage and Frequency
Always follow your doctor’s instructions regarding dosage and frequency. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Tadalafil should be taken as needed, typically 30 minutes to an hour before sexual activity. Do not take it more than once a day.
