Precautions and Contraindications

Always inform your doctor about your complete medical history before taking Filitra (vardenafil). This includes any existing heart conditions, low or high blood pressure, liver or kidney problems, blood cell disorders, eye problems like retinitis pigmentosa, and any allergies.

Medication Interactions

Filitra can interact with certain medications. Avoid taking it with nitrates (used to treat chest pain) as this combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Inform your doctor about all medications you are currently taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements.

Nitrates: Strictly avoid concurrent use. Alpha-blockers: May cause increased blood pressure drop. CYP3A4 inhibitors (e. g., ketoconazole, ritonavir): Can increase vardenafil levels. CYP3A4 inducers (e. g., rifampicin): Can decrease vardenafil levels.

Specific Precautions

Avoid grapefruit juice; it can affect the metabolism of vardenafil. Alcohol consumption can increase side effects. Moderate your intake or avoid alcohol altogether. Sudden vision loss or hearing loss requires immediate medical attention. Prolonged erection (priapism) is a medical emergency; seek immediate help.

Contraindications

Filitra is contraindicated for individuals with:

Severe heart disease Low blood pressure Recent stroke or heart attack Uncontrolled high blood pressure Severe liver or kidney problems Retinitis pigmentosa Known allergy to vardenafil or any of its components
